LESBOS
An exciting Greek island visited by numerous groups of birdwatchers in April/May, either with a tour group, or as individuals. It includes a look at the various locations most visited, in order to see both resident and migrant birds.
These include Scops Owl, Cretzchmar’s, Black-headed & Cinereous Buntings, both Western Rock & Kruper’s Nuthatches, Black Stork, Purple Heron, Glossy Ibis, Black-winged Stilts, Ruppell’s Warbler, Squacco Heron, Little Bittern, Little Crake, European Bee-eaters & Sombre Tit, to name just a few. Some orchids can also be found amongst a variety of plants on roadside verges & tracks.
