Northern Norway
NORTHERN NORWAY in Winter
In February 2018 I went on a photographic trip to the north of Norway with five other people from various countries. It does not matter if you all speak different languages as photography is universal.
We all met up at Oslo Airport, with Daniel Green of "birdsafarisweden" who had organised the trip, for our internal flight to Kirkenes in the north. Then it was a two-hour mini-bus journey, through snowy landscapes, to our hotel in Batsfjord for the next three nights. The next two days were spent in a floating hide in the harbour in the mornings, photographing Common, King & Steller’s Eiders along with Long-tailed Duck, followed by a boat tour around the area in the afternoons. Our last two days were spent near Kirkenes at the Birk Husky Lodge. From here we would drive our own husky sledge to a feeding station in the forest to hopefully, photograph Siberian Jay, Siberian Tit & the stunning Pine Grosbeak, before our flights back to different parts of the world.
This talk is only 40mins and can be combined with either Belarus or Churchill for a longer show.
