SWEDEN in Spring & Summer

My first visit to Sweden was to the Svartadalen area for four days from the 10th to the 13th April in 2013.     Since then, I have been back in June 2014, February 2017, May 2019 & the latest trip was in February 2020.

The first trip was in early Spring, which unfortunately, found some of the lakes & rivers unusually frozen but Whooper Swans, Common Cranes, Ural, Pygmy & Great Grey Owls were seen. The second trip started in the Svartadalen area then up to the southern region of Lapland.

The next three trips were with Daniel Green, who runs "birdsafarisweden", sometimes using specialist photographic hides. On these occasions I photographed both Red & Black-throated Loons, Ospreys fishing (by boat), Hawk Owls, Slavonian Grebes & both male & female Goshawk.
