Titchfield Haven NNR
WILDLIFE at TITCHFIELD HAVEN NNR
This talk is based on a variety of wildlife that is often seen throughout the year at the reserve. It is owned by Hampshire County Council & has now been designated as a National Nature Reserve. Although I am no longer a voluntary warden, I still assist, as often as possible, with conservation work.
Some of the birds are resident, whereas many, are only passing through & use the reserve as an important feeding station in order to continue their journey to their breeding or wintering grounds, in either the north or the south.
The reserve has certainly changed over the years. Originally, you would have booked for an escorted visit around the reserve at weekends only, but it now opens seven days a week. You can either purchase an annual ticket or a day ticket to wander around the reserve, visiting the hides at your leisure.
